Terms of Service
Effective: October 16, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Connor Pelkmans, who publishes Studyboard ("we"), for using Studyboard: the app and its website. By using Studyboard you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Questions: support@studyboardapp.com.
Using Studyboard
Studyboard is a planner that helps you keep track of your courses and work. You can use it for free on your own device, with or without an account; a free account keeps your planner online and in sync on your devices. You must be at least 13 years old. Use it lawfully, and do not try to break it, attack or overload it, get around plan limits or payments, use someone else's account, get into other people's data, or use it to harass anyone.
Your account and your content
Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Everything you put into Studyboard is yours. You allow us to store it, sync it and show it back to you (and to the people you choose to share it with) so the app can work, and for nothing else. You can export it or delete it at any time (see the Privacy Policy). Keep your own backups of anything important. You must be 13 or older to make an account yourself; a parent or guardian can make one for a younger student and agrees to these Terms for them. Accounts for students under 13 can't publish or share with a link. Only publish sets you made or have the right to share, and never answers to graded work; we remove what is reported.
Study groups and shared content
Study groups, study rooms and shared decks let you post content other people see. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users: no harassment, bullying, hate, threats, sexual content, spam, cheating services or sharing other people's personal information. Use Report on a group message, a shared item or a group member to tell us, and Block (in the group's member list) to stop seeing someone's messages straight away. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules and remove people who post it.
AI features
AI features are optional. They use either your own key from a provider you choose, whose terms and any costs are between you and that provider, or, if you are signed in without a key, a small number of free trial requests answered by an open AI model run on Cloudflare (see the Privacy Policy). AI answers can be wrong or out of date. Check dates, grades and facts before you rely on them, and use AI only as your school and instructors allow.
Your school and other services
Connecting a school learning platform, calendar or other service is your choice. You're responsible for using it as your school's rules allow. Studyboard only reads from those sites. Studyboard is not affiliated with Brightspace, Canvas, Blackboard, Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, Apple or any school.
Free and Pro
- Studyboard has a free plan and an optional paid plan called Pro with higher limits and extras. What each includes, the prices and the renewal terms are shown on the pricing page and before you buy. We may change prices or features for the future; if you subscribe, the price you agreed to stays the same until your next renewal after we tell you, and we will not take away what you have paid for during the period you paid for.
- Free week of Pro: each new account gets 7 days of Pro once, with no card and no charge. When the week ends, the account goes back to the free plan unless you choose a plan. Nothing you made is deleted. One free week per person: it isn't given again to a new account made with the same email address.
- Free trial: if a free trial is ever offered at checkout, your plan starts and you are charged when it ends unless you cancel before then.
- Renewal and cancelling: subscriptions renew automatically each month, every 4 months (the semester plan) or each year until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe, the App Store or Google Play. Cancel any time under Manage billing (or in your App Store or Google Play account if you bought there); you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds: payments are generally not refunded for time already used, except where the law or the purchase page says otherwise. If something went wrong, write to us and we'll sort it out fairly: support@studyboardapp.com. Purchases made in the App Store or Google Play follow Apple's or Google's rules for billing, cancelling and refunds.
- Apple subscriptions (iPhone and iPad): Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions in your App Store account settings after purchase (apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions). Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- If a payment is reversed (a refund or a dispute), Pro for that payment ends.
- If you go over a free limit after a plan ends, nothing is deleted; you just can't add more until you're under the limit.
Availability and no warranty
We work hard to keep Studyboard reliable and your data safe, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that it will always work, be error free or never lose data. Back up what matters (the app makes it easy). Do not rely on reminders alone for something critical.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data or for indirect or consequential losses, such as a missed deadline or lost grade, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months (or zero if you use the free plan). Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk.
Our code and content
Studyboard's code, design, text and graphics belong to Studyboard and are protected by copyright. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app and the website. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, sell, host or frame Studyboard, decompile or reverse engineer it, or use its code or design to make another product. The parts Studyboard is built with keep their own licenses: see About in the app.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app. Using Studyboard after that means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. Questions: support@studyboardapp.com.
